Second Sunday of Advent – 2011
The good news of Jesus Christ, the son of God is indeed very good news to be shared with all. God sent his son to show how much he loves us. This son came to us as a babe and our church takes four weeks, the Season of Advent, and asks us to celebrate this birthday. Advent is a time of joyful expectation to prepare our hearts and to make way for Christ's coming.
The second Sunday of Advent directs us to prepare the way of the Lord, for, as today's readings tell us, when He comes his reward will be with Him. The Lord does not want any of us to be unprepared for His coming. Again as today's scripture tells us we are to live lives of holiness and Godliness waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God's return. Let us recall Christ first coming and prepare for the second coming.
What is the news, and is it good?
